Lawrence HS Standout Commits To BU

Lawrence High School standout basketball player Nia Irving is taking her game to the Boston University Terriers of the Patriot League.

The 6-foot-1 center led the Bulldogs to the Class A state championship back in February. Irving averaged 22 points and 14 rebounds a game as a junior. She was named Maine's Gatorade Player of the Year.

She had received several scholarship offers, including UMaine, but has chosen to play at BU.

The Terriers head coach is Katy Steding. Former Lawrence HS star and UMaine star Cindy Blodgett is an assistant coach at BU.
