Chip Sheldon, Project Foreman for LANE Construction, spent 2 hours with 18 department members discussing issues ranging from right-of-way to safe and legal work zone speeds.

The focus of this training was on keeping both emergency responders, and construction workers safe while LANE is working on the Route 1 project in Bridgewater this summer.

While all apparatus drivers of Bridgewater Fire Department equipment are required to pass an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC), this opportunity has allowed responders to understand the unique aspects of the construction zones, and how to deal with travel on congested single lane roads.

The Bridgewater Fire Department is grateful for the commitment to community service that LANE Construction and Sheldon have shown through this partnership.
