Just Looking Around: Squirrel Snow Fort, Easton
Earlene Dyer Lawrence photographed this little lady taking a look around and burrowing on a sunny January day in Easton.
Many ground squirrels hibernate during the winter months, but the rock squirrel ground species will leave the burrow to seek food.
This one looks like she's playing but she's likely plowing through the snow looking for acorns and nuts.
The adorable critter disappears further in the snow:
And further:
And now just tail:
Each week we bring you the talented photographers of the Just Looking Around Facebook group as they capture moments in Maine and New Brunswick. Thanks to Earlene for her wonderful photos.
