Jack White has revealed information about his upcoming solo album, which he's been dropping hints about since late last year. Called Boarding House Reach, as suspected, the record is set for a March 23 release via his Third Man Records.

White already released its first single, "Connected by Love," earlier this week. This marks the White Stripes alum's third solo record, and his first since 2014's Lazaretto.

White worked on the album in a spartan apartment with no distractions, using tools he had at his disposal when he was 15: A quarter-inch four-track tape recorder, a simple mixer and basic instrumentation. According to a press release, the album features "crunching rock 'n' roll, electro and hard funk, proto punk, hip hop, gospel blues and even country."

While White produced the album on which he performs vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, drums, organs and synthesizers on the LP, he's also backed by an array of A-list musicians: drummer Louis Cato (Beyoncé, Q-Tip, John Legend, Mariah Carey), bassists Charlotte Kemp Muhl (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger) and NeonPhoenix (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), synthesizer players DJ Harrison and Anthony "Brew" Brewster (Fishbone, the Untouchables), keyboardists Neal Evans (Soulive, Talib Kweli, John Scofield) and Quincy McCrary (Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Pitbull), percussionists Bobby Allende (David Byrne, Marc Anthony) and Justin Porée (Ozomatli), and backing vocalists Esther Rose and Ann & Regina McCrary of the gospel trio, the McCrary Sisters, as well as longtime collaborators like drummers Daru Jones (Nas, Talib Kweli) and Carla Azar (Autolux, Depeche Mode, Doyle Bramhall II). The singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking contributes a spoken word performance on "Abulia and Akrasia."

The album is available for pre-order, with a Third Man Vault Package also available to Vault subscribers. You can learn more about the Third Man Vault on his website.

White will also hit the road in support of the album, having just announced several festival headlining slots this summer, including Shaky Knees in Atlanta, Boston Calling and Governors Ball in New York. Visit White's website for more details.
