Jack Bruce fans will have the chance to pay their respects to the legendary bassist at the start of his memorial service, which has been opened to the public.

While the funeral itself is private, Bruce's family has invited one and all to help make sure it begins on a celebratory note. Writing that they "would like to thank everyone for the kind words and messages from around the world, with friends and fans sharing in their grief," they've posted an invitation that reads, "Jack's private funeral will be held on Wednesday 5th November at 10AM, Golders Green Crematorium, London. He always liked a good audience, so fans are welcome to cheer his arrival at the final 'gig.’"

For those who would like to make a donation in Bruce's memory, the note goes on to make some suggestions, adding that "the family request fair trade or British flowers or a donation in Jack's memory to his chosen charity: East Anglian Children's Hospice." The note closes with a few lines from 'Fields of Forever,' a track from Bruce's 'Silver Rails' LP: "Now I’m back home for a while with a smile / And my garden’s full of summer weather / Gonna keep on with the work tho it sometimes hurts / When you’re looking at the fields of forever / Looking at the fields of forever"

As previously reported, Bruce passed away on Oct. 25, succumbing to liver disease at the age of 71.
