The UMaine Black Bears scored the first two goals of the game and then Notre Dame scored the last four goals. A 4-2 win at Alfond Arena means a weekend sweep for the Irish.

The Bears fall to 4-13-1 in Hockey East, 10-17-3 overall.

Notre Dame is 10-5-3 and 17-9-4.

Blaine Byron scored just 26 seconds into the game to give Maine the lead. Brendan Robbins made it 2-0 early in the second period.

And then the Black Bears started taking penalties.

Two powerplay goals by the Irish in the second period got the game tied.

Two even strength goals got the Irish the win.

Matt Morris made 36 saves in goal for Maine.

Cal Petersen made 17 for Notre Dame.
