Husson University softball saw their run in the NCAA regional come to an end in the title game with a 13-2 loss to the host Wheaton College.The Lyons reached Husson pitcher Kayla Merrill for 10 runs in the first three innings as part of their 15 hit attack. For the senior Merrill it was just her 6th loss of the season while the Eagles finish the 2015 campaign with a record of 33-8.

This was the most successful trip to the regionals for the Eagles who have been to seven straight. In the previous 6 trips they compiled a record of 2-14 while they went 2-2 in this tournament.

The Eagles will lose 4 seniors from this years team but return 6 of their top 8 hitters. Husson will also have to name a new head coach as Terren Hall was serving as the interim coach this season, but has applied for the full time position.
