Houlton Transfer Station Roof Collapses Under Weight of Snow [PHOTOS]

A section of the Houlton Transfer Station building collapsed recently from the weight of accumulated snow.

According to sources at the Houlton Transfer Station, the exterior roof of the building buckled causing the interior ceiling to collapse.

The interior has been cleaned up and emptied out. All trash drop off services and recycling has been moved outside.

The exterior roofing remains intact and has been reinforced.

Since service has moved outside operations have actually been faster with post Christmas trash requirements.
