Former Houlton Man Accused of Murder

Bangor Police have charged a man with ties to the Houlton area, with murder after responding to a domestic disturbance Monday afternoon.

According to the Bangor Police Department, 21-year-old Zackery Mailloux of Houlton is accused of murdering 21-year-old Brooke Locke of Bangor while at their apartment on Essex Street Monday afternoon.

The State Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed Locke died of strangulation and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Mailloux is being held with out bail after his first court appearance on Tuesday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
