Houlton Hearing to Determine if Minor Will Be Tried as Adult
A district court judge is presiding over a hearing which began today that will help determine whether a teenager should be tried as an adult for a killing in northern Maine.
Samuel Geary is accused of murdering 61-year-old local painter Keith Suitter of Houlton.
Law enforcement officials say Geary, then 16, and 18-year-old Reginald Dobbins, killed Suitter in March of 2015.
Suitter's body was found inside his mobile home. No details have been released on how Suitter, a military veteran, died.
Geary is being represented by North Carolina attorney Crispin Culbertson. The prosecutor in the case is John Alsop.
The hearing in Houlton District Court is expected to last most of the week.
