Houlton Amato’s Closed After Burglary

Heads up if you're looking for something to eat today. Amato's Restaurant in Houlton will be closed Monday due to a burglary.

According to Presque Isle Amato's Facebook page, the Amato's on North Street in Houlton was broken in to overnight.

Windows were broken out of the building. An undetermined amount of cash was stolen, as well as the store's safe.

According to owner Micah Desmond, the suspect or suspects entered the building through the drive-thru window that was broken out, and escaped through the back door.

The Houlton Police Department is investigating.If you have any information that may be helpful, you're asked to contact Detective Kennedy at 532-2287.
