Campbellton RCMP are investigating an alleged hit-and-run that injured a woman on the Eel River Bar First Nation Monday afternoon.

RCMP responded to a report at approximately 2:20 p.m. that a young woman had been hit by a car while jogging on Blueberry Point Road. Police say the woman was hit when the car swerved out of its lane. The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance, where she was treated for injuries to her hip and shoulder.

The victim described the car as an older vehicle, silver, with a low frame, possibly a Pontiac Sunfire. The vehicle is also described as having a long hood, with a noticeable rust spot on the front bumper, and rust on the fenders. The driver appeared to have been a man, wearing a hat.
