Two men were arrested following 2 high speed chases in northern Aroostook County this past weekend.

On Saturday, October 27, a white Audi had been involved in a high speed pursuit at approximately 8:00 o'clock that morning with Madawaska Police Department and law enforcement had been trying to locate the vehicle throughout the day.

Maine State Police Cpl. Corey Hafford attempted to stop the Audi on Route 162 near the Cross Lake and Sinclair town line early Saturday afternoon. The driver of the Audi failed to stop which resulted in a high speed pursuit.

The Audi turned south on Rt. 161 and several Maine Game Wardens spotted the vehicle southbound on Rt. 161 but were unable to stop the car which was travelling in excess of 100 mph.

Wardens and Cpl Hafford continued following south and located the vehicle at the intersection of Allen’s Alley and Rt. 161 in the Rainbow Cove area of Madawaska Lake where both occupants had fled on foot.
