The Maine Drug Enforcement says a New York man was arrested this week in Bath and charged with selling heroin and crack cocaine.

31-year old Dashawn Gill, from Brooklyn, New York was charged with, Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Heroin and Crack Cocaine)

For the past month, agents assigned to MDEA’s Mid-Coast District Task Force, along with officers from the Bath and Brunswick Police Departments and Sagadahoc Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack in Bath-Brunswick, including undercover agents buying the drugs from Gill.

On Monday, agents searched an apartment at 530 High Street in Bath, where Gill was selling the drugs from. Gill was in the apartment and arrested. Agents found 21 doses of crack cocaine in his pocket as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun. About $1000 in  suspected drug proceeds was also seized.

Gill was transported to the Two Bridges Regional Jail where bail was set at $25,000 cash.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges will be reviewed by the Attorney General’s Office for several local residents who were assisting Gill’s drug trafficking by allowing the use of their apartments in exchange for money and/or drugs.
