The sandwich shop in Monument Square known as "Hero" closed its doors yesterday after only being open for five months. It was co owned by the owners of "Empire" and the owners "Otto". According to the Portland Press Herald, A spokesman from the Otto restaurant group stated:

The partnership and the concept just didn’t pan out like we had hoped. The location wasn’t performing at the level it needed to to keep going, so we just made the decision to close it.

The owners of Otto will now focus on getting their new location on Read St. open, which they anticipate to be by late August. I am sad that I never got a chance to try a Hero sandwich but I heard they were highly scrumptious. I can only hope that they put something equally as awesome in Hero's place.

Farewell, Hero! We hardly knew you. </3
