Have Green Day gone bad? It certainly appears that way in the band's new video for "Bang Bang," but all may not be what it seems.

The video opens on a trio of masked gunmen getting ready to rob a bank, but the masks will look very familiar to Green Day fans as they're meant to look like Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. Meanwhile, the real Green Day are off playing a house party while the crime is underway. Eventually the two worlds collide with the thieves making their getaway to the party. Watch it play out in the Tim Armstrong-directed video above.

"Bang Bang" is the lead single off Green Day's forthcoming Revolution Radio album, due Oct. 7. When the song first arrived, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone, “It’s about the culture of mass shootings that happens in America mixed with the narcissistic social media. There’s this sort of rage happening, but it’s also now being filmed and we all have ourselves under surveillance. To me, that is so twisted. To get into the brain of someone like that was freaky. It freaked me out. After I wrote it, all I wanted to do was get out of my brain because it just freaked me out."

The rocker added, “I don’t know why someone would ever do something that horrific because I know I never would. It’s just sort of meant to also reflect the culture a little bit without sounding pretentious."

Those interested in pre-ordering Revolution Radio can now do so via a number of options on a dedicated page set up by the band. Look for Green Day on tour at these stops.
