Gordon Banned For PED Use [VIDEO]

National League batting champion Dee Gordon was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for exogenous testosterone and clostebol according to Major League Baseball.

The Miami Marlins speedster said in a statement on Friday morning that he is unaware he took the banned substances, but will not appeal the suspension.

"Though I did not do so knowingly, I have been informed that test results showed I ingested something that contained prohibited substances. The hardest part about this is feeling that I have let down my teammates, the organization and the fans," Gordon said in his official statement on the suspension.

Gordon is in his sixth MLB season and his second with the Marlins.  He led the league at second base with a .333 batting average in 2015.  Gordon also stole 58 bases and has 194 overall in his career.  The second baseman is the son of former major leaguer Tom Gordon who closed games for the Boston Red Sox 1996 until 1999.
