In an early season battle of two new-look teams, the Hampden Broncos scored a 50-39 over the Bangor Rams last night, leaving both teams with 1-1 records.

The Broncos and Rams are using several first time varsity starters. At times both teams struggle on offense. For instance, it was 6-6 after one quarter and a Hampden 20-14 lead at the half.

Junior guard NIck Gilpin helped to give Hampden a double digit lead in the second half, scoring 17 of his 21 points.

Andrew Hilllier led Bangor with 14 points.

Hampden will host Brunswick on Friday night. Bangor will host Edward Little. You can hear the Rams vs EL game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket Friday beginning at 7pm.

 

 On the girl's side, Bangor defeated Hampden 46-27. The Rams balanced scoring included 11 points from Cordelia Stewart, 10 each from Mary and Katie Butler.

Marissa Gilpin had 6 for the Broncos.

Bangor is now 2-0, Hampden 1-1.
