The fundraiser will allow an enrolled student to receive 12 free credit hours for the fall semester of 2016 and another 12 for the spring of 2017. This will be the fourth year that this raffle will be conducted and so far seven students have benefited from the campaign.

“For the first time, the Alumni and Friends Organization will be paying for half of the cost of the tuition prize,” said Mark Bouchard, president of the alumni group. “Our organization is still young, but thanks to the previous raffles sponsored solely by the College, we can now pay it forward and help a deserving student.”

“We were happy to support the Alumni Organization by allowing them to keep the proceeds of previous raffles. This allowed them to continue their important work of reaching out to alumni through Homecoming and regional gatherings,” said Tim Crowley, Northern Maine Community College President. “They have also taken on a closer connection with current students through their Mentoring Program.”

The raffle tickets are available for a contribution of $10 per ticket or six for $50. Tickets are available at the NMCC Alumni office on campus and from members of the NMCC Alumni & Friends Organization. A scond prize will be drawn for a $250 gift certificate to the NMCC College Store. The winning tickets will be drawn on August 22.

“People who purchase raffle tickets may put their own name, the name of a student they know, or simply designate that a deserving student should receive the prize,” said Bouchard. “In previous years, this raffle has been won by some whose financial situation would have prevented them from attending. The free tuition changed all that and provided another chance for an excellent education. The Alumni and Friends Organization is very proud to help make this opportunity possible.”
