Where do I begin with this story? Two boys and two girls went missing over the weekend and the police are suspecting the four might have met online and plotted to run away from their homes. What happened to the good old-fashion going to the movies with your high school boyfriend/girlfriend?

I was a teenager once. I was somewhat rebellious and thought that surely I can make it on my own at 15. That was only until I realized I had to cook and go grocery shopping myself. Then I caved in and I thought being a teenager isn’t so bad after all. So when I read the story of these four love birds I felt sorry for their parents who are worried sick about their teenagers.

Corey Sunderman, 16,  who was hanging out with Austin Boggs, 13, got in trouble with the police the night they ran away. Apparently the two snuck out of their parents’ house to go skateboarding after curfew, when the cops saw them and dragged them back to the house. Now, Corey’s mom did something I think most parents would do - she took their shoes and put them in her bedroom to make sure the boys stayed home! Job well done mom; however, these teenagers proved to be love struck more than their parents expected or even knew about it.

So the two Romeos found old boots in the garage (seriously gross), proceeded to steal one of their fathers’ car, $400 of his newly-cashed paycheck, and a laptop. Boys when you are brought back home from your little ‘fast and furious trip’, I know you have a lot of explaining to do!

Corey and Austin drove to a gas station where they made a phone call to the girls. You won’t believe what the girls told their parents they were doing! Jazlyn Visek, 15, and Skie Floyd, 15, told their parents they were going for a walk at the cemetery! Parents how many of your kids at the age of 15 go for a walk at the cemetery?

Well, Visek and Floyd, skip the cemetery and instead met with the boys, abandoned the car and left by bus or train. The police think the fabulous four are headed to Florida to chill at a popular skateboarding park!

I don’t think these teenagers really thought this through and are causing their parents and the community a lot of grief! Parents have to be strict and create boundaries for the kids. That’s how it goes, maybe at 15 you can’t appreciate all that your parents do for you, but trust me at 25 you are grateful for everything they did for you!
