The hockey season is continuing for University of Maine senior Steven Swavely who has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.Reports out of Philadelphia indicate that Swavely will soon join the Lehigh Valley Phantoms which is the Flyers AHL affiliate. He is expected to be with the team through the remainder of the season which has 16 games left on the schedule.

Swavely scored 9 goals to go along with 9 assists for 18 points which put him 4th on the UMaine points list this season.

Nick Pryor who played at Maine during Swavely's freshman season is an amateur scout with the Flyers. His career with the Bears was cut short after a series of concussions.
