The Flaming Lips appear to be putting the finishing touches on their next studio album.

Stereogum reports that George Salisbury, a longtime confederate of Lips frontman Wayne Coyne and the man responsible for all visual components of the band's various projects, recently used Instagram's new "stories" feature to hint at upcoming new music.

Similar to Snapchat messages, Instagram stories are designed to automatically delete themselves after a predetermined period — but on the internet, nothing ever really goes away, and you can see Salisbury's post, which shows off some new artwork and a handful of files under the caption "Gettin’ close!!!!," embedded above.

As Stereogum notes, the caption in Salisbury's post — "Oczy Mlody" (translated from Polish, it means "eyes of the young") — is a hashtag Coyne's been using a lot on social media lately, and if there really is a new Flaming Lips record coming down the pike, it doesn't seem all that far-fetched to assume that's the title.

The Future Heart takes a more in-depth look at the various social media shenanigans surrounding the project, including an array of tweets and images posted by Coyne that show off more of the artwork components and strongly hint at various track listing selections (sample titles include "One Night While Hunting for Fairies and Witches and Wizards to Kill," "Listening to the Frogs with Demon Eyes," and "Galaxy I Sink").

Whenever Oczy Mlody (or whatever it will be called) appears, it'll have benefited from a fairly long gestation period. In recent months, the Lips have focused on a variety of side projects, including recording and performing with Miley Cyrus, and took a Beatles-inspired detour with their 2014 Sgt. Pepper's tribute With a Little Help From My Fwends.
