North Lake Fire Chief Roy Acott said his department received the call shortly after 10 a.m. of a structure fire at 310 Forest City Road, not far from Grand Lake.  Crews from North Lake, Debec and Canterbury responded to the mill fire with about 15 crew members. The Woodstock Fire Department sent out a tanker, but it was called back to the station.

Chief Acott said the main bandsaw mill was destroyed in the blaze as well as all of the owner's equipment that was in the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The mill is located about 60 miles west of Fredericton, not far from the U.S. border.
