The Caribou Fire Department received the call from the owner of the home at 330 Thibodeau Road around 12:30 p.m., according to Caribou Fire Chief Scott Susi. The fire was through the roof of the single family ranch home when the first crew arrived.

Chief Susi said 26 crew members from Caribou, Presque Isle and Washburn Fire Departments worked to extinguish the blaze and remained on site for more than two hours. There were no injuries. The home was a total loss.

The chief said the fire appears to have started in the kitchen area but it’s not clear what the exact cause might have been due to the extensive damage.
