You’d think we’d get tired of Fargo Season 3, and the unfathomable pinheadery of all its nonsense-phrases, but Mary Elizabeth Winstead delivers them with such gusto. See for yourself (and get an in-depth look at this season’s story) with a new extended featurette for Installment 3 of FX’s Noah Hawley drama.

Following the release of several extended trailers, FX bolstered Fargo Season 3’s April premiere with a new behind-the-scenes clip detailing both the rivalry between Ewan McGregor’s Stussy brothers, and the murder that ropes in Carrie Coon’s Chief Gloria Burgle. We also get a sense of David Thewlis’ mysterious V.M. Vargas, and all the misunderstandings, mishandlings and misadventures to come.

Ahead of an April 19 premiere, so reads the Fargo Season 3 synopsis:

Set in 2010, the third installment of Fargo centers on “Emmit” and his slightly younger brother “Ray Stussy” (Ewan McGregor). Emmit, the Parking Lot King of Minnesota, sees himself as an American success story, whereas Ray is more of a cautionary tale. Forever living in his more successful brother’s shadow, Ray is a balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt – and he blames his brother. Their sibling rivalry follows a twisted path that begins with petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge.

Carrie Coon stars as “Gloria Burgle,” the steady chief of the local police department. A newly divorced mother, Gloria is trying to understand the new world around her, where people connect more intimately with their phones than with the people around them. Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Ray’s girlfriend, “Nikki Swango,” a crafty and alluring recent parolee with a passion for competitive bridge. David Thewlis stars as “V.M. Vargas,” a mysterious loner and true capitalist whose bosses plan to partner with Emmit, whether “The Parking Lot King” likes it or not.

Rounding out the cast are Boardwalk Empire alum Michael Stuhlbarg as Sy Feltz, Emmit’s right hand man and consigliere; Jim Gaffigan as Donny Mashman, Gloria’s deputy; Scoot McNairy as Maurice LeFay, a stoner with a criminal past; Shea Whigham as Meeker County Chief of Police Moe Dammick, and Deadpool star Karan Soni as scientist Dr. Homer Gilruth. Fred Melamed and Thomas Mann also portray Howard Zimmerman, a mover and shaker with a knack for spinning a yarn and making a profit; and Thaddeus Mobley, an award-winning science fiction author.

In the meantime, check out the first trailers below, and stay tuned for more Fargo Season 3.
