New Brunswick Trucker Injured in Northern Maine Crash
A tractor trailer crash in Easton Tuesday morning injured the driver and shut down the Richardson Road for several hours.
Maine State Police say 55-year-old Gary Price from Saint John, New Brunswick was traveling south on the Richardson Road at approximately 9:30 a.m., and reached for an item in the cab.
Price lost control of the 2008 Western Star and it went off the right side of the roadway, rolled over and struck a utility pole. The impact broke the pole and knocked out power in the area. The driver was trapped in the cab and had to be extricated by Easton Fire Department personnel, according to Sgt. Chad Fuller.
Price sustained what appeared to be minor injuries. The road was closed until mid-afternoon Tuesday while crews attended to the accident.
Crown Ambulance, Aroostook County Sheriff's Office, Fairpoint Communications, Emera Maine Power, Easton Highway Department, and Maine Department of Transportation also assisted at the scene. State Trooper Jeffrey Clark is leading the investigation.
The truck is owned by Black's Transfer Ltd. of Saint John.
