Early Morning Fire in Bridgewater Sends Woman to Hospital
An early morning fire destroyed a home in Bridgewater on Tuesday, putting the owner in the hospital.
According to the Monticello Fire Department, crews from four local fire departments were called to the structure fire on the Bootfoot Road in Bridgewater at approximately 2:10 a.m.
Over 30 firefighters from Bridgewater, Mars Hill, Monticello and Centreville, New Brunswick responded to the blaze. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours.
A woman who lived in the house made it out on her own and was taken to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle with undisclosed injuries. Several pets perished in the fire.
The State Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause.
