Eagles Over Mariners Twice

The Husson University Eagles won both games against Maine Maritime Academy in an early season North Atlantic Conference doubleheader.

The men's team beat the Mariners 93-78. The double-barrel scoring of Trevon Butler and Raheem Anderson accounted for 60 of Husson's 98 points. Each player scored 30.

MMA was led by Tyler Thayer's 26 points and Brendan Newcombe's 25.

Husson is now 3-1 overall (2-0 NAC). MMA is 2-3 overall (1-1 NAC).

In the women's game, Husson's defense forced 31 Maine Maritime Academy turnovers in a 72-60 win.

Eagle center Rebecca Young led in scoring with 18 points. Four other Husson players were in double-digit scoring.

Alayne Felix led the Mariners with 18 points.

Husson improves to 2-1 (2-0 NAC). MMA is now 2-3 (1-1 NAC.
