A police investigation into the death of former 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts has resulted in the arrest of a doctor accused of illegal drug distribution.

TMZ reports that police have charged Doctor Richard Snellgrove, an Alabama physician who's been indicted for prescribing five controlled substances to aliases that he's accused of using to funnel the medication to Roberts. According to a Fox report, the indictment took place Nov. 16.

"There's no satisfaction in seeing a doctor arrested," Fox quotes Roberts' father Darrell as saying in response to Snellgrove's indictment. "I don't have any bitterness, no anger, nothing like that towards the doctor, but I'm also aware this is a serious issue in the medical community all over the United States."

Roberts, who was 38 at the time of his passing, was a founding member of 3 Doors Down, and left in 2012 to focus on health concerns. He was found dead on Aug. 20 at a hotel in West Bend, Wis., where he was in town to perform at a charity event. Wisconsin authorities identified prescription medication overdose as the cause of death, then pinpointed Alabama as the source; working from there, they collaborated with Alabama police to track down Snellgrove.

"I know he had prescription drug addiction. He suffered greatly from anxiety. It's crazy as a performer; he never liked crowds or liked places he didn't know about as a baby, as a child, and this was his way of dealing with it and me and him talked about it often," Roberts' father told CNN after his death. "I thought he had beaten it all."
