An early morning accident took place Tuesday on Central Drive in Presque Isle after the driver lost control of her car.

According to the Presque Isle Police Department, just before 3:00am, 18-year-old UMPI student Rebecca Maxwell of Presque Isle, lost control of her 2005 Toyota Corolla while attempting to reach for her cell phone charger and crashed into a telephone pole.

Police say both Maxwell and her front seat passenger, 19-year-old Dylan Begin of Presque Isle, were wearing their seat belts and refused any medical treatment.

The rear passenger, 18-year-old Dillon Rappleyea received minor facial injuries after his head slammed into the back of the front passenger headrest; he was transported to The Aroostook Medical Center by Crown Ambulance.

No charges are pending.
