As of late Sunday morning, about 6500 customers were still in the dark in New Brunswick, with the majority in the Rothesay area. In Maine, crews are contending with new outages after cutting the number down to about 3500. They aim to restore service to all customers in hard-hit Hancock County by New Years Day.

With as much as a foot of snow expected in some areas late Sunday as well as freezing rain, Bangor Hydro Electric expects there may be more power outages, as there is still extensive tree damage in many areas.
