On the night of June 11, police responded to a domestic dispute at a cottage. The investigation revealed that the couple was in possession of a stolen vehicle, according to Constable Cornelius Brown of the Riverview RCMP.

The suspects were arrested the following morning, and a search of the vehicle revealed numerous stolen goods including identification cards, credit and debit cards and other items. Police also say they discovered drugs and items used in producing illicit drugs, which investigators believed to be crystal meth. These items were sent for testing.

Thirty-two-year-old Corinda Belanger and 39-year-old Marco Grenier appeared in Moncton provincial court on June 13 and were charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

Lab tests have since confirmed the drugs seized to have been methamphetamine, police say.  Additional stolen property was also discovered among items seized in a search of the vehicle.

On Tuesday, June 20, the two were charged with production of methamphetamine and six further counts each of possession of stolen property.

Belanger and Grenier remain in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The RCMP investigation continues.
