A Connecticut man is facing charges of operating under the influence after being arrested yesterday afternoon in Aroostook County.

State Police received a complaint of erratic driving on Route 161 near Madawaska Lake at around 2:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

A short while later, Deputy Vance Palmer with the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, stopped the vehicle, which was an older model Mercedes, on Route 162 in Sinclair.

After a brief roadside investigation the operator of the vehicle, 45-year-old Peter Szczerba of New Britain, CT, was taken into custody for OUI and transported to the Caribou Police Department.

The investigation continues.
