Heroin Overdose Suspected in Death of Faith No More’s Chuck Mosley

It’s possible that an overdose of heroin was responsible for the death of Chuck Mosley, the singer on Faith No More‘s first two records. He passed away on Nov. 9 at the age of 57.

Cleveland police found “two syringes, a baggie and a spoon with residue” near Mosley’s body when they arrived at his house, according to TMZ. The body was discovered by Pip Logan, his longtime partner, and a friend. In addition to Logan, Mosley is survived by two daughters and a grandson.

The details of the toxicology report are pending. Traditionally, they take several weeks after one’s death to be made public.

The initial statement from Mosley’s family cited “the disease of addiction” as the cause of death, “following a long period of sobriety.” “We’re sharing the manner in which he passed,” the statement continued, “in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety.”

They have now set up a GoFundMe campaign for “a small private memorial for family and friends” as well as to create a “large scale, loud, bright, beautiful concert,” the latter of which will take place at a later date. “Chuck deserves a unique and tasteful send off, followed by punk rock and as much chaos as we can legally get away with,” Mosley’s family wrote. As of press time, they have raised $6,455 towards their goal of $7,000 – 92 percent – with 144 people contributing after only one day. You can make a donation here.

Mosley was in Faith No More for 1985’s We Care a Lot and 1987’s Introduce Yourself. He last performed with them in 2016 to celebrate a reissue of We Care a Lot.
