Carleton County Accident Claims Life of 16-Year-Old Girl
Woodstock RCMP say a 16-year-old girl died in a single-vehicle crash late Saturday night just below Centreville, New Brunswick.
The crash occurred just before midnight when a vehicle went off Route 560 in Williamstown and ended up in a field, according to Cpl. Lloyd Harquail. A female passenger died at the scene and four others in the car suffered undetermined injuries. The victim was identified Monday as 16-year-old Emma Pearson of Glassville, N.B.
Police say alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation into the cause is continuing. Funeral services for Pearson will be held on Wednesday.
