A car collided with a moose Saturday night on Route 11 in T7 R5 just north of Knowles Corner. Two people were taken to the hospital - one with serious injuries.

Three people were in the 2007 Chevy Impala when a moose entered the roadway around 11:06 pm Saturday. The moose was killed in the head on collision, said Sgt. Josh Haines, Maine State Police-Troop F.

48-year-old Michael Boulier from Houlton was driving. 21-year-old Taylor Graham and 20-year-old Devon Hanigan, both from Houlton, were passengers. Graham suffered minor head injuries while Hanigan sustained serious head and internal injuries, said Sgt. Haines. Both were taken to the Houlton Regional Hospital. No information was available on Boulier’s condition.

Police say all occupants were in the front seat and wearing their seatbelts.

The car, owned by Beverly Kaminsky of Houlton, was totaled and towed away. Trooper Tim Saucier responded and investigated the crash along with Tr. Jared Sylvia and Sgt. Josh Haines. Patten Ambulance Service transported Graham to the hospital. Ashland Ambulance Service transported Hanigan.
