Maine Game Wardens say they have recovered the body of a Camden man who fell through ice on Megunticook Lake in Lincolnville.

Wardens got a call around 7:45 p.m. on Monday that someone had fallen through the ice. A dive team found the 20-year-old Trueman Moore on Tuesday morning.

Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service said Moore and three friends were walking at the Wiley Neck shore when Moore decided to venture onto the lake. Ice at the time was thin, with significant open water.

MacDonald said Moore’s friends lost sight of him and reported him missing at about 8 p.m..

Lincolnville firefighters and wardens determined by footprints where Moore had gone through the ice, but weather conditions were too poor for recovery operations last night.

Warden Bruce Loring says the dive team set up operations at the public landing off Route 105 in Camden. Two divers took an air boat to Wiley Neck .

Moore's body was recovered 100 feet from shore in 22 feet of water just before 10 am.  The water temperature was 30 degrees, according to MacDonald.

An autopsy is being considered.
