The C-47 Warplane and her crew playing a key role in the 70th anniversary D-Day ceremonies in Normandy, France last week will return to the Presque Isle late Friday afternoon.

Whiskey 7 is expected to land at the Northern Maine Regional Airport between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 13. The aircraft will spend the night at the airport, and the crew in central Aroostook, before departing for the final leg of the journey home to the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, New York early Saturday.

Although no formal ceremonies are planned for today, officials at the Northern Maine Regional Airport and the Presque Isle Air Museum are welcoming community members who didn’t get to see the aircraft when it arrived last month, or just want to see it again, to check it out while it is in The County.
