Ronald Boersma also received 15 years of supervised release.

According to court records, a forensic examination of Boersma computer showed images of child pornography. He also used a peer-to-peer file sharing program and downloaded files containing child pornography. A search warrant was obtained for Boersma's residence.

In an interview with authorities, Boersma admitted he had searched for and downloaded sexually explicit images via the internet and that his specific interest was in females between 8 and 10 years of age.

The Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and the U.S. Secret Service investigated the case.
