The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the man who died inside his North Anson home Thursday morning is 63-year-old William Bloom. The cause was accidental and investigators said the fire started when combustibles located too close to an electric heater caught fire.

NORTH ANSON, Maine (AP) — Maine officials say a man has died in a house fire in the town of North Anson.

The state fire marshal's office says the body of the homeowner, who was in his 60s, was recovered after the fire swept through the house in the pre-dawn hours on Thursday. The man's identity wasn't immediately released.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety says a team of fire investigators is attempting to pinpoint the cause of the blaze.
