Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts spent yesterday afternoon with concussion specialist Dr. Mickey Collins in Pittsburgh. Collins is the Hermon, Maine native and former USM baseball player who is now a go-to guy for athletes dealing with concussions.

Betts suffered his concussion back on July 28th when he flipped over the bullpen wall in right field at Fenway, trying to catch a fly ball that ended up being a home run. He hasn't played since.

According the Sox, Betts will rejoin the team in Detroit this weekend and start easing back into baseball activities.

Collins has worked with many famous athletes, helping them through the trials and tribulations of concussions. That includes former Sox catcher David Ross, and last year he worked with Brock Holt and his concussion issues.
