Benicio Del Toro has been taking the world of cinematic sc-fi by storm. After starring as the Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy, he’s signed on to a mysterious role in Star Wars: Episode 8, and now it looks like he might be in Shane Black’s Predator sequel.

Deadline reports that Del Toro is in early talks to star in 20th Century Fox’s reboot of 1987’s Predator. We don’t know yet if he’ll play “Quinn Mackenna,” the only name from the script that Black has revealed, or if he’ll be a secondary character, but his quiet menace he emitted throughout 2015’s Sicario proves that he’s more than up to the task of hunting down an alien trophy hunter. We sure wouldn’t try to pick a fight with Del Toro.

The reboot will be directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys), who has a personal connection to the film, after he actually starred in the original as radioman Hawkins, the first member of the squad to get taken out by the Predator’s ugly mug. Black’s co-writer he worked with on 1987’s The Monster Squad, Fred Dekker, is writing the script for the new Predator.

Del Toro’s next project before The Predator is Soldado, the Sicario sequel helmed by Stefano Sollima, which doesn not yet have a release date.
