Firefighters in Belfast rescued a 3-year-old Lab mix from a burning camper on Tuesday.

Firemen Frank Short entered the camper to search for victims but only found the dog named Sterling, according to a Facebook post from the Belfast Police Department.

Sterling was brought outside and was motionless until rescuers began resuscitating the animal.

Sterling was taken to a local veterinary hospital with burns on his nose, plastic melted on his fur and smoke inhalation. The dog's owner says Sterling may be released from the hospital as early as Wednesday.

"Sadly the owner lost everything but clearly only cared about his dogs," the post said.
