The UMaine hockey team will try to turn around a five game losing skid when the Vermont Catamounts come to Alfond Arena this weekend.

It's a two game non-conference series with 7pm start times for Friday and Saturday nights.

Coach Red Gendron's Bears haven't won a game since beating UMass on the first day on November. Two of the five losses were to the Catamounts and those games counted in the Hockey East standings.

Maine enters the weekend at 2-5 in HE, 3-9-1 overall.

Vermont is coming off a 3-1 win over UMass Tuesday night. The Catamounts are tops in HE because they have already played 11 conference games and are 7-3-1. Overall, Vermont is 9-3-1.
