The UMaine Baseball team snapped a two game losing streak and bested the UMass Minutemen by a score of 4-2 on Friday afternoon.

Justin Courtney won his second contest of the season with seven strong innings against UMass, allowing just two runs on eight hits and two walks.  The Bangor native also had seven strikeouts.  Jeff Gelinas pitched a perfect ninth inning to earn his third save of the season.

Lou Della Fera led the Black Bears offensively going 2-3 with a walk, a run batted in, a run scored and a stolen base.  Jeremy Pena also chipped in an RBI.

With the win the Black Bears move their record to 6-6 on the season and will play UMass again tomorrow in the second game of a three game set.
