He has struggled with the Red Sox but 'Baseball America' has selected Yoan Moncada as the Minor League Player of the Year.

That's the top player of all minor leaguers, in all levels of the minors.

Moncada started the year at Class A Salem and then came to the Class AA Portland Seadogs. A couple of weeks ago, he was a September call-up for the Red Sox.

Moncada's total stats for the minors: .294,15 HR, 62 RBI, 31 doubles, 6 triples, 94 runs, 45 stolen bases in 106 games. He won the MVP award at the Futures All Star game in San Diego.

Moncada joins Josh Beckett as the only Seadog player to win 'Baseball America' Player of the Year.

'Baseball America' past Minor League Player of the Year selections include Mike Trout, Kris Bryant, Jason Heyward and Alex Gordon.
