Bangor's 15 year run as host site for the Senior League World Series is over. Little League announced today that Easley, South Carolina will become host site.

SLWS tourney director Mike Brooker told Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket that Little League will drop their 'Big League Division'(17,18 yr old) and that Easley, South Carolina, which has been host site for 'Big League' World Series, will now host the 'Senior League Division' World Series.

Brooker says Little League officials told him it is an economic decision and not anything that Bangor did wrong.

Little League moved the SLWS from Kissimmee, Florida  to Bangor in 2002.

Statement from Little President and CEO Steve Keener:

"For 15 years, the city of Bangor has been a wonderful host of the Senior League Baseball World Series, and words cannot express our sincere gratitude to our Tournament Director Mike Brooker, his fellow volunteers, and the entire city for their support."

"Equally, Easley has an incredible volunteer staff, led by Tournament Director Jon Humphrey, and support from the city. When reviewing both locations, Easley offers dormitory housing, with the support from Clemson University, and is a more central location, with easier transportation options for all participants, families and fans. This was an extremely difficult decision given that both sites have fantastic facilities and volunteers that support our tournaments."
