State Police are investigating the death of a little girl in the town of Stetson, Maine, just northwest of Bangor.  Police were called to a home on Mt. Pleasant Road around 3 a.m. Monday after the body of 2-year-old Loh Melody Grenda was found in her mother’s car.

According to Public Safety Department spokesman Steve McCausland, the girl’s mother is 24-year-old Leanna Norris, who currently lives in Auburn. Norris has been hospitalized at an undisclosed facility.

McCausland said an autopsy on the little girl’s body was conducted by the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the results are pending additional testing.

State Police detectives have been conducting interviews with family, friends and relatives as they investigate the circumstances of the toddler's death.
