Aroostook County's first 120 mile car rally will start at 9:00 am at York's of Houlton and end up at Valley Motors in Fort Kent, with stops at Percy's Auto Sales in Presque Isle and Griffeth Ford in Caribou.

There will be food and fun at all the stops along this County wide rally.

Bob Dorsey, President and CEO of The Aroostook Partnership says it’s essentially a rolling car show culminating with music and a barbecue. Dorsey says it’s $50 to participate and, if participants gather sponsors, for $100 the sponsor can have a decal of their company logo on the participant’s window. The first 100 entrees will also get a free T-Shirt.

Participants will be driving anything from antique cars to muscle cars to souped-up pickups to their favorite vehicle. Dorsey says "I’ll be driving my 1970 Olds 442 (only 425 HP & >500 Ft lbs of torque) and my wife will be trying to keep up in her 1980 Trans Am. It’s also rumored that Max Lynds may be entering his 'Vette and Luke Rossignol is desperately trying to figure out how to drive two cars at once!"

Dorsey says participation is as much or as little as you wish - from doing the entire route to one or two stops - to show off your vehicle or observe some very interesting cars from all over Aroostook County.

Registration forms are available on the United Way of Aroostook's Facebook page. For more information, contact Sherry at 764-5197.
