The incident happened Tuesday evening at Mullin's Furniture in Holmesville, according to Cpl. Marty Van Dijk, of the Woodstock RCMP.

A store employee told police that a man entered the business at approximately 6:00 p.m. and demanded money. No weapon was shown and nothing was taken. After a few minutes, the man left the store.  Nobody was hurt in the incident.

Police later located the suspect walking along Route 565 in Holmesville. After a short foot pursuit, the man was arrested.

Levi Davenport of Lower Kintore, N.B. appeared in Woodstock provincial court on Wednesday and was charged with attempted robbery. He did not enter a plea. The judge ordered a 30-day psychiatric assessment.

Davenport is scheduled to return to court on June 11, 2014.
